Supernova Showcase

… a stepping stone for ensembles, band leaders and artists from the Aalborg jazz scene!

After an Open Call, 8 national and international jazz exported selected three artists. They will perform at El Mundo and at a recording session in Hideout Studio.

  • Ørvad og Brun

    Ørvad & Brun is Nordic Jazz written by two guys who love pop and in general groovy music. They both came together with the love for simple grooves, harmony and melody, with the intent to have a lot of openness for long and storytelling solos. As an audience, you can expect music that both speaks to the heart, brain and body.

    “You will witness moments of total improvisation where we put ourselves on the spot and try to land on both feet, and we have found our favorite musicians to execute just that.”

  • HiveMind

    HiveMind is a young, energetic, fresh and modern take on a jazz group. Beats, raw energy and a direct sound is the foundation of the HiveMind universe.

    The group consists of an international mix of people, but based on the evolving jazzscene in Aalborg, Denmark.

    HiveMind is taking inspiration from both modern jazz, rock, fusion and latin grooves, while it all mixes up in the mysterious Mind of the Hive.

    All members of the band have been crucial participants in the jazz-improvisational environment of Aalborg. Having participated in numerous project and performances, our relationship with the city of Aalborg is a ever continues one.
